The nails look absolutely fantastic and the nail technician did an amazing job. However, they claim a 2 week guarantee on gel manicures and my nails began to chip immediately after the first week (after 8 days to be exact). I would have posted sooner however I had them done specifically for vacation and had no service- I was very bummed to have my nails start chipping during my trip. What a pleasant nail experience @ Charm Nails DC! Upon my arrival, I was warmly welcomed and attended to right away (my appt was 5:15p on Wed night ;). Jenny was lovely, attentive and generally helpful throughout the whole experience. I was SO pleased w/her work and how she checked in w/me to make sure I was satisfied throughout the process even with our slight language barrier. My line of work takes me all over the DMV, so I’ve encountered my share of nail salons and I think I’ve found my Georgetown spot 😉 – kaneia mayo

This is by far the worst nail salon that I have ever been to. The staff is extremely rude and they do not have any customer service whatsoever. I arrived for my appointment at two o’clock. When I arrived and sat down, they just put me in the water soaking my feet. I realized I was soaking my feet for 30 minutes and none of the technicians said anything to me, any courtesy, nothing to say, oh, I’m sorry. We’re running a little bit behind. We’ll get to you shortly. Please wait. Just to be nice, but they didn’t even do that. They just sat there and didn’t even address me, didn’t talk to me, didn’t look at me, nothing. Mind you, this is a very small salon, so I’m right in their faces, but they made it a point to make sure that they do not make any eye contact with me. Apart from that, as I was sitting waiting for my pedicure, another Caucasian lady walks in and she has to wait as well to get her nails done. But while she’s waiting, one of the technicians gets up out of her seat, goes and talks to the lady, explains to her that she’s running behind and she will be with her shortly, even went and got her some nails polishes to look at so she could pick out her colors while she waited. I wish that I have received the same treatment because that would have been nice being that I was sitting there for 30 minutes and this lady literally just walked in the door and got great customer service. I’m not sure if it’s a racial thing or if they just don’t like people of color, but the way I was treated was very terrible. I will not suggest anyone, any person of color go to this place and even someone that’s not of color to go to this place because why would you want to be somewhere where they don’t respect humans, where they don’t respect people of color or people in general, being that they are immigrants themselves. Then, when I finally decided to leave after 30 minutes, one of the technicians decided that she wanted to start an argument with me, telling me that I should just wait. I told her that I will not wait because nobody acknowledged me for the 30 minutes that I have been sitting here and I will not be spending my money here. She then started speaking Vietnamese to her friends and they started laughing so I left and I will never return back to this location, if you want great customer service I suggest not coming to this location – Izzy Collier

Girlfriend is visiting DC for her brother’s wedding. Had her appointment today for French tip acrylic. The nail shape is inconsistent. The acrylic is lumpy. The French tip is inconsistently sized across each nail. Her nail beds have been throbbing since she returned from the appointment. Especially for the price point ($70), it is extremely disappointing. – Jonathan Campbell

Charming Nails never disappoints! They have a great selection of OPI gel colors, SNS dip powders, and other services. They also have weekday discounts and excellent customer service. The ladies are thorough with the process and keep the shop clean. Their location is in the heart of Georgetown and parking is not always the easiest, so consider that if you drive. 10/10 would recommend. Annie and Sophie are my favorites but all the ladies in the shop are amazing! – Esther
