I’m so disappointed. I don’t often get my nails done, but after coming here with a girlfriend once before and being happy with how my nails looked, I was excited to come back. This time it was not a good experience at all. My toenails are not as bad as my fingernails, but the texture isn’t smooth (there are visible bumps) and despite me asking, the tech didn’t do anything to help with cutting back the edges/sides of my big toenails for ingrown nails. My fingernails is what I’m most upset about. The tech didn’t prepare my nails at all beyond cutting the length (like pushing back cuticles, oil, etc) prior to starting with polish. While putting the polish on, she kept missing the edges of my nails, or going beyond my nail and getting polish in and beyond the cuticle bed, without cleaning it up. I tried to point things out but she did not speak any English, so she continued on without addressing any of my concerns. Even at the end when she said she was done, we had to call someone else over who tried to fix the issues with the polish outside of my nails but since it was gel it had already cured and there wasn’t much that could be done besides starting over. I don’t know whether she was brand new to nails, but it was a bad enough experience that I don’t feel comfortable going back to this salon, despite the good experience I had the time before this. I’m really disappointed that I spent time and money at a salon for this result that looks worse than if I did my own nails at home. – Chloe Johnson

Overall I’m happy with my nails BUT let me just explain why I gave 2 stars. I walked in (no appointment) and asked for a full set. They sat me right away, great already starting on a positive note. My tech Kieu (pronounced Q) asked what shape and color I wanted. Awesome. She confirmed my shape so there weren’t any questions. Now came the color…I showed her a few pics which were typical expectations (in my opinion). Mostly a base color with some kind of color/glitter scheme. She never gave me an option as far as acrylic, powder gel, etc, and just did this “liquid gel” which burnt my nail beds like hell! (OK she did warn me about that part). Essentially I paid $72 (plus tip) for a French manicure with blue tips instead of white. I tried uploading pics but it’s not working. They explain much better. #RealityVsExpectations – Nicole Durham

I wanted to try this place as I had seen it on instagram and get my hair done next door. I have extremely bad anxiety when going to new places so I entered with apprehension. The male that did my nails was super chill and clearly takes care with his work and was very nice and constantly asked if I like what he was doing with my nails. When you make an appointment you have to make a deposit but it makes sense to me because these people are very skilled and seem to be very busy. I really like this nail salon and I hope to come back again to get my nails redone. – Noel Marie
